About Livestock Feed Tests

Extensive practical trial with scientific attendance are the most efficient possibility to test and present your own additives. At our own experimental farm we conducts research on lactating sows and piglets with special attention to feed efficiency and animal health. Also we are in contact with scientific experts and competent authorities in the field of animal nutrition.

Our research facilities

OUR RESEARCH FACILITIES

Research facility
– sow

For trial questions in sows we work together with two cooperation farms nearby:

one farm with 2100 sows and Topigs Norsvin genetic

one farm with 750 sows and Danish genetic

both farms work in weekly rhythm

Research facility
– piglets

Weaner unit: 139 pens with a possible stocking rate of 5-10 piglets per pen. All pens have the same size, the same feeders and drink nippels.

Our weaner stable is totaly rebuild in 2017 and is equipped with baby piglets (DanBred x Duroc) every 8 weeks.

Research possibilities sows:

individual feed intake
body weight and back fat
faecal score
individual body weight of the piglets at any time (possibility to have ear tags with numbers to follow/identify the single piglet)
creep feed consumption
faeces samples

Research possibilities piglets:

individual body weiht (possibility to have ear tags with numbers to follow/identify the single piglet)
feed intake, average daily weight gain, feed conversion ratio
faecal score
faeces samples

For not registered feed additives we apply a special permit for a new additive at the responsible authority.
